Block of four, original gum, small h.r., true Pink color, centered slightly to top, faint gum soaks, few horizontal perf separations, one stamp faint natural gum crease FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE ORIGINAL-GUM BLOCK OF FOUR OF THE 1861 3-CENT PINK AND PROBABLY AS FINE AS IT EXISTS. Multiples of this distinctive shade are very difficult to obtain. Oct. 12” (1861) circular datestamp EXTREMELY FINE. A GORGEOUS USED EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 1861 3-CENT PIGEON BLOOD PINK WHICH HAS BEEN GRADED XF 90 BY P.S.E. ONLY ONE HAS GRADED HIGHER.
