3c Ultramarine (Scott 114). Bright color, cancelled by perfect strike of Rose Blossom fancy cancel of Waterbury Conn. (Rohloff F-2), centered to bottom, light diagonal creases EXTREMELY FINE STRIKE OF THE DRAMATIC ROSE BLOSSOM FANCY CANCELLATION OF WATERBURY, CONNECTICUT. THIS IS THE MOST ELABORATE FLOWER DESIGN CARVED BY THE POSTMASTER OF WATERBURY. Several of the different Waterbury designs carved by postmaster John W. Hill are noteworthy for their elaborate designs, such as the Running Chicken, Bee, Eagle & Shield and some of the human faces. This Rose Blossom design is certainly one of the Hill’s finest creations. With 1995 P.F. certificate.

(Rohloff A-13), stamp with diagonal crease at top EXTREMELY FINE STRIKE OF THE WATERBURY LARGE BEE FANCY CANCEL. A SCARCE AND DESIRABLE FANCY CANCEL. The details of this carving are truly remarkable and clearly visible in this example, for example, the delicate lines of the bee’s wings. With 1981 P.F. certificate.

Centered to top right, cancelled by “Shoo Fly” fancy cancel of Toledo Ohio, stamp with small flaws and small repairs, still Very Fine strike of this scarce fancy cancel, the children’s song of the same name was written by Thomas Brigham Bishop (who also wrote “When Johnny Comes Marching Home” and other famous patriotic songs), the words were later changed to “I belong to somebody” from “I belong to Company G”, a reference to a black detachment commanded by Bishop, with 1998 P.F. certificate
