6c Pink (Scott 186). Gorgeous centering with Jumbo balanced margins, vibrant color as fresh as the day it was printed, long and full perforations all around, bold strike of “13” duplex cancel EXTREMELY FINE GEM. THE 1879 6-CENT AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY ISSUE IS VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND WITH SUCH JUMBO MARGINS AND IN SUCH PRISTINE USED CONDITION. THIS EXCEPTIONAL STAMP HAS BEEN GRADED SUPERB 98 JUMBO BY P.S.E. — THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED TO DATE BY FAR AND THE ONLY EXAMPLE TO ACHIEVE THIS GRADE. This issue is difficult to find used or unused in such superb condition. There always seems to be a trade-off between centering and other condition factors. The stamp offered here, with Jumbo centered margins, long perfs, bright color and a clear cancel, is the finest we have ever encountered. With 2003 P.F. and 1994 and 2009 P.S.E. certificates (Superb 98 Jumbo, unpriced in SMQ above the grade of 98, SMQ price $1,150.00 as 98). This is the highest grade awarded to date in any category.
