Bottom imprint and plate no. 4944 block of six, four side stamps Mint N.H., intense shade on deeply blued paper, unusually choice centering for this difficult issue VERY FINE AND CHOICE. A RARE IMPRINT AND PLATE NUMBER BLOCK OF SIX OF THE 10-CENT ON BLUISH PAPER. THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL WASHINGTON-FRANKLIN ISSUE PLATE BLOCKS. ONLY THREE ARE RECORDED BY LEWIS KAUFMAN. Lewis Kaufman records only three plate blocks of this issue, including two from the bottom position and one from the right. The one from the right position has all stamps hinged (top stamps slightly disturbed gum) and was offered in our 1982 Rarities and in the Shreves Wampler sale. Ex Eno.
