Two flown covers, both addressed to Harold Ickes, Secretary of the Interior, first large-size with albino embossed corner card of the Postmaster General and signed at top right by James A. Farley, PMG in his ubiquitous green ink fashion, personal letter dated Oct. 16, 1933 to Ickes accompanies, also Farley signed in green, Farley explains the issue and its design, in closing he says “It is our sincere hope that the forthcoming flight and this special stamp will serve to strengthen the bond of friendship between the two Nations” (if he only knew), other cover bears block of four tied by New York Oct. 4 third day machine and handstamp circular datestamps, usual cachets, Fine-Very Fine, interesting lot

Cormorant” (circular datestamp with “Washington D C” appended at right), all printed cachets with Rice (scarcer red and gold), two Anderson and Ioor (Planty C18-2, C18-4 and C18-5b respectively), Fine-Very Fine, nice group
