90c Carmine & Black, Re-Issue (Scott 132). Deep rich frame color and proof-like impressions, essentially perfect centering with wide margins, light strike of quartered cork cancel leaves the design completely visible EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 90-CENT 1869 PICTORIAL RE-ISSUE, WHICH HAS RECEIVED THE GRADE OF XF-SUPERB 95 FROM P.S.E. — THIS IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED. SMQ estimates that approximately 40 used copies exist. Most are either off-center or have small faults. With 1986 A.P.S. and 2007 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95; SMQ $22,000.00). This is the highest grade awarded to a 90c Pictorial Re-Issue and this is the only stamp to achieve it.
