Providence, R.I., 1846, 5¢ gray black (Scott 10X1), corner margin single, o.g., stamp never hinged, faintly hinged in selvage only, the most impressive example of this stamp one could ever imagine, an enormous bottom right corner margin single in an immaculate mint state with gleaming fresh gum, unlike anything we have ever offered on this issue; how this spectacular showpiece has survived the last 167 years in this tremendous mint state is difficult to imagine, and this stamp is certainly deserving placement in a collection of distinction, Extremely Fine, 2013 P.F. certificate graded XF-90 XQ.
