3c Deep Violet, Bluish (Scott 359). Mint N.H., deep rich color and proof-like impression on deeply blued paper, exceptionally well-centered for this difficult issue EXTREMELY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING AND EXTREMELY RARE MINT NEVER-HINGED EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT ON BLUISH WITH CHOICE CENTERING, GRADED XF-90 BY P.S.E. THIS IS BY FAR THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED TO DATE. This stamp in Mint N.H. condition in any grade of centering is rare — this is only the fourth different example we have offered since keeping computerized records. The combination of this stamp’s outstanding centering and pristine gum makes it an exceptional condition rarity. P.S.E. encapsulated (XF 90, SMQ $9,100.00). The only other Mint N.H. example in the P.S.E. Population Report is graded VF 80.
