Scott $2,250 Estimate price $750 – 1,000 Incredibly scarce “Star Plate” sheet produced in 1912 regularly issued in Washington, DC made from the 6 outer vertical rows from imperforate sheets that had been rejected for use in vending machines which account for the stamps 3mm spacing, this is the scarcer lower right plate position showing plate block at right and a full star plate block along the bottom .

Scott value $2,250 These small sheets were sold only in Washington, D.C. during September and October of 1912. They were made from the outer six vertical rows of imperforate “star plates” that were deemed unsuitable for use in vending machines due to their 3mm spacing.
