Offices in China, 1919, $1 on 50¢ light violet (K15), top plate number block of six, fresh, vibrant color with full never hinged original gum that was a bit unevenly applied, selvage somewhat reduced, Fine and exceedingly rare. Scott $17,500 for hinged AN EXCEEDINGLY RARE PLATE BLOCK; WE CANNOT RECALL SEEING A FULLY NEVER HINGED EXAMPLE ON THE MARKET IN MANY YEARS. The gum on the top three stamps is uniformly crackly and a bit thicker than that on the bottom three, not an uncommon occurrence near the edge of the sheet on this issue.
