Bottom half, used with two intact stamps and with June 28, 1867 manuscript cancels on document from Louisiana, blue “6786” control no. also cancels one stamp, Very Fine, scarce, with 1980 P.F. certificate which states “it is a genuine unofficial usage” — whatever that means, since bisecting revenue stamps was never “official”, but it was done by the agents — this issue is known to have been used bisected (see our Tolman sale) Robert Siegel Auction Galleries, Mar 2012, Sale 1019, Lot 1019 |
