A RARE UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE 1851 ONE-CENT FROM PLATE 3 AND ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE WITH THE MAJOR DOUBLE TRANSFER. The Neinken book (page 227) discusses the presence of five major double transfers in the tenth vertical row of Plate 3 Right, indicating that Toppan Carpenter experienced problems entering the first column on Plate 3.
