Approximately 70+ covers, vast majority are better than the ordinary No. 26 usages, many interesting items incl. stamp with double perforations on all four sides (ex Alexander), “New York Ship” with “Due 3” straightline, Aug. 27, 1861 last day of legal use in Concord N.H., demonetized usage from 1943 on Southern Hotel corner card from Baltimore which was accepted, demonetized usage in Oct. 1861 which was not accepted, one correspondence of four covers showing the transition from the 1857 to the 1861 Issue, illustrated covers, scarcer towns, green cancel, also a number of better stamp varieties incl. a perf freak which created two-thirds of a stamp, defective transfers, repaired relief, part imprints, shades, couple with recut inner lines, etc., most of these were hand-picked by Mr. Wagshal in his quest for the unusual, overall Very Fine, a desirable group

3c Dull Red, Ty. III, Numeral “5” Cancels (Scott 26). Three covers and one stamp, each with a bold central strike of a numeral “5” handstamp, slightly different styles and not tying the stamps, Very Fine and unusual, while postmasters in this period occasionally used their rating numerals as obliterators, this late in the life of the 3c 1851-57 issues the numeral “3” is the one most often seen, the “5” used here was long obsolete by 1857, the 5c single rate was lowered on to 3c on July 1, 1851 and the 5c unpaid rate was eliminated on April 1, 1855
