1869, 24¢ green & violet (Scott 120), expertly regummed, an extraordinary well centered beauty with fantastic attributes, being nearly perfectly centered with generous margins all around, with breathtaking rich colors and sharp detailed impression, the gum looks original, but unfortunately isn’t, and is so well done it even fooled the experts at PSE; truly a mouthwatering example of this rarely offered mint stamp, Extremely Fine, 2005 P.S.E. certificate graded XF-90 which specifically states that the gum on this stamp is “original gum, previously hinged”. Scott $2,800. Estimate value $5,000 – 7,500.
