1869 (1875 Re-issue), 1¢ buff (Scott 123), o.g., previously hinged, remarkable showpiece in one of the nicest qualities obtainable, featuring Superb centering, ravishing rich color, and great eye appeal; of the 10,000 examples that were reportedly sold, very few are found with the attributes that this stamp possesses; as pretty as they come, Extremely Fine, 2005 P.F.C. and 2008 P.F. and 2011 P.S.E. certificates both graded XF-90 (1 of only 5 examples attaining this impressive grade, with only 4 others grading higher). SMQ $1,150 in the grade of XF-90. Scott $550. Estimate value $1,000 – 1,500.
