1870, 24¢ purple, grilled (Scott 142), captivating blue cancellation, an extremely desirable example of this scarce stamp, with wonderfully rich color, much more intense than normally encountered on this issue, plus a clear grill impression – rare thus, as most of the time one has to be imaginative when trying to see the grills on the 24c grilled Banknote issue, wonderful contrast between the stamp’s vivid shade and the desirable colored cancel, a most pleasing stamp; small tear at top right is this scarce stamp’s only fault, otherwise Fine, 1987 P.F. certificate.
