7c Vermilion (149). Original gum, lightly hinged, beautiful deep rich color, vibrant shade and sharp proof-like impression, perfectly centered with wide even margins all around EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN ABSOLUTELY SUPERB ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 7-CENT 1870 NATIONAL BANK NOTE ISSUE IN THE FINEST CONDITION ATTAINABLE. THIS MAGNIFICENT STAMP HAS BEEN AWARDED THE GRADE OF XF-SUPERB 95 BY P.S.E., WHICH IS THE HIGHEST GRADE AWARDED TO DATE. IT IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE TO ACHIEVE THIS GRADE. Ex Grunin. P.S.E. encapsulated (OGph, XF-Superb 95, SMQ value $4,900.00). This is the highest grade awarded to date and the only example to achieve this grade.
