Scott #233a, 4c Blue Columbian, error of color, a magnificent mint Never Hinged example of this famous rarity, possessing an extraordinary overall freshness and brilliance few existing copies can boast, with stunningly rich color and a razor-sharp impression on bright white paper, centered to the left as nearly all never hinged examples are, usually with perforations touching or cutting the design, this with well clear margins all around, full clean o.g., never hinged, attractive fine centering.The Four Cent Columbian color error exists in two different shades, one being far more deep, having come from at least two different sheets. The example offered here possesses an especially intense shade. One of the few existing sound, original gum, never hinged examples of the Four Cent Columbian error of color. Accompanied by 1993 PF certificate.
