12c Black, Plate 3 (Scott 36b). Extra wide margins all around with perfs far from framelines, intense shade and impression which clearly shows double transfer at bottom, neat cancels leave design clearly visible EXTREMELY FINE GEM. A SUPERB USED EXAMPLE OF THE 12-CENT 1860 ISSUE FROM PLATE 3, WHICH HAS BEEN GRADED XF-SUPERB 95 BY P.S.E. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DESIRABLE WITH THE PROMINENT DOUBLE TRANSFER AT BOTTOM. Ex Floyd, Tahoe and Kirke. With 1990 P.F. and 2008 P.S.E. certificates (XF-Superb 95; SMQ value $1,950.00 with no premium for the double transfer). Only one stamp has graded higher (at 98).
