State Dept., 1873, 1¢ dark green. O.g., very lightly hinged, precision centering within uncommonly large and beautifully balanced margins, striking intensely rich color on bright paper with a crisp detailed impression, a Superb jumbo, this is the highest award grade to a 1¢ State Dept. issue with the second highest grade being only a 90 grade, with 2014 P.S.E. Graded certificate (Superb 98J, SSV $1,900 for only a 98 grade). Scott No. O57; $260. ONE OF THE FINEST MINT EXAMPLES OF THE OFFICIAL 1¢ STATE DEPARTMENT ISSUES IN EXISTENCE.
